The Frames of Awareness
Samsung's new ads are pretty clever. The theme is "The Next Big Thing" saying that the hype around iPhone is not such a big deal. Samsung is the new leader. The phone for the trendy people looking for individuality. It's a reuse of Apple's strategy used against Microsoft and Windows as a positioning element.
It's beginning to be rather boring. The new iPhone looks like iPhone 4. Not bad but same of same. Apple need to present something new, make a change. Besides that I find Android to be more user friendly, playful, and modern (seen from the outside) than iOS, which is kind of stuck in its own mold.
Apple has become a dogmatic design promotor. Previously they where a free spirit challenging a rational linear Windows world. The decreasing dominance of Microsoft can be an explanation. Apple lack a fixed point for its preachings.
The first thing that manifests in any process of creation is the "state of intention". It’s an empty space ready to become a body, take shape and form. Depending on the intentions it will expand into and with the help of the existing forces. This is the rule for the higher intelligence controlling life as well as for creating a business, a new mobile device, a painting, or any kind of social interaction. So always, intention and meaning comes first then form and matter. Nothing happens in random. Even random events have a logic. It’s just so complex that we can’t grasp its meaning and overall structure. As the great Benjamin Libet demonstrated, there is a process in the works, for what ever we do, before we are consciously aware of it.
