The Frames of Awareness

Merging web and desktop

Ubuntu is developing new features that will enable web apps to integrate directly with the desktop. A sign for where the future of apps will go.

Games from Humble Bundle – pay what you want

Humble Bundle is an extremely interesting concept. They make games for all platforms, including Linux. You pay what you want. If you want. You can choose to pay a part of the sum to charity. The games are DRM free. An example of an Aware company that is at one with its time. Something for other companies and leaders to be inspired by. Doing it in a beautiful manner increases the value in my eyes.

Goodbye Spotify

Spotify makes a big mistake in demanding a Face Book account in order to use their service. Until that change back I need to say Googbye. I don't have a Face Book account and I don't want it.

Ubuntu is defining its identity

Ubuntu 11.10 is coming close to be released. The people behind are working hard to make Ubuntu modern by adopting design awareness.  Ubuntu is really finding its unique Identity. I wonder, what if the community behind Ubuntu becomes even more aware of the importance of design will it ever be a threat to Apple’s dominance? I think it might. At least a little.

Gepio as Beta Alpha.

My first trial of Gepio is up and running. I call it a Beta, even though Alpha would be closer to the truth. Since last summer I've been working to finally create and manifest my idea of, what I call, a "Databased Awareness Center". More precisely it's a web application where you can survey and gather information about an organization's personality and reflect it in a visual language much like a mirror. More to come.
